I collected this tree in 2011. Above on the picture you can see the tree in 2012, and now. In 2013 I started to form a tree trunk. I started to form the dead part like if it would be in the nature, just speeding up the time. Since that in every half a year I was "working" on a trunk a bit. Cause I am not good at drawing I used to imagine the next step in my brain and if it was ready, then the work was ready as well. Now, in December 2016 has been forming it again, and I thought to where the trunk is still missing from the nature trail, I make up it, and then it will be ready in 99%. It's not 100% because my opinion a tree is never done :-D

Wherever the trunk was too homogeneous, too smooth, I carving a bit, I engraved a trench, a burrow, or just broke the surface of it, cause I wanted to reach it won't be smooth, because it is really rare in the nature that is totally homogeneous, or it has a completely flat pattern. In the nature it use to be striated, lined or "lair" samples, so I tried to imitate like those. I got really small drill bits (from 0.8mm, 3mm-up) so I did the job by this small bits. By these bits are really nice, small and detailed patterns can be created. It is true that the work is slow, but worth the effort, because the end result speaks for itself.
Sure, I'm biased, because it is one of my favorite tree, and it is my first yamadori tree, but the end result was very good. I made a video about it  what you see speeding up because no one would be able to sitting in front of the monitor across three hours to watch this slow milling process. I am very pleased with the results!

In March I will put it into a bowl, because it deserve. I got a nice anthracite green  bowl for it so will live in that from spring.

some pictures about it:

And a video about the carving:

Crataegus

2009-ben kerületem kézzelfogható kapcsolatba a bonsaiokkal.
