Acer palmatum - Acer japonicum

This is a easily mutating, so it almost the most number of ornamental maple variety, about 400 kind. In europe the oldest species is about 150 years old.
It is a very preferable species of Bonsai.
 
Advantage features:  Különösen szép a kihajtáskori,és őszi színeződése,és szívós.
Habitat:  Japán,párás,nedves erdők.
Winter protection:  Gyökérzónája fagyérzékeny,külön védelmet igényel.
Light requirements: Tartsuk tűző napon,30°C felett árnyékolást igényel.Jól tűri a félárnyékot.
Soil: Laza,mészmentes,enyhén savanyú talajt igényel.
Watering:  Szereti a sok vizet.
Fertilising:  Normál
Special care:  Növekedési időszakban erős példányoknál akár két teljes lombmetszés is adható. Utolsó kihajtáskor javasolt a lombritkítás és a fénymetszés. A hosszú ízközöket kihajtáskor távolítsuk el!

Acer Campestre, Field Maple

The Field Maple is current in whole Europe, it is well adopting, medium stature tree. Because the wild animals love to eat them, we can find in nature nice spieces, which is suitable for bonsai. It is starting well, so this is a preferable yamadori.

The French Maple (Acer mons pessulanum) current by the Mediterranean Sea, it is a smallest in the maple family. It can be find mostly in France, around Montpellier. It is quiet resistant to drought, but it is sensitive to strong frost.

The "Fire red maple" (Acer tataricum subsp. ginnala) is subspecies of The Tatar maple (Acer ginnala) from the Siberian steppes, extremely tough, resistant species. Europe has been introduced as an ornamental plant in horticulture and feral. The product of straight sets shrub or small tree-sized specimens can be found, although extremely rare. in particular sinful beauty of autumn coloration.

 
Advantages:  small foliage, beautiful autumn coloring
Habitat:  stony, rocky slopes, forest edges
Winter protection:
  • Normal, mulch
  • French maple require special protection, it is recommended to keep in greenhouse during
Light requirements:  requires a blazing sun, can tolerate partial shade
Soil:
  • Field maple, France maple like limey soil, loose soil requires
  • Tatar Maple, need a normal deciduous bonsai soil mix
Watering and moiste:
  • Normal, the ground is always wet
  • The Tatar maple likes moist, slightly more than the average
Fertilising:  Normal
Diseases:  It is often attacked by powdery mildew and lousy as well

Special care: Recomended a ful defoliation at the beginning of June and remove long nodiuses. After second spout, use claritypruning.

Acer buergerianum - Trident maple

 

The trident maple is one of the most frequent decidious tree, what people are keeping for bonsai.

Advantageous properties:

  • Small leaves
  • lovely fall coloring
  • not sensitive for disease
  • tough

Habitat:  Native in East Asia, lives in humid forests

Winter storage: The root zone is sensitive to frost, adviced to keep in greenhouse during winter

Light demand:   It loves a lot of light, but above 30°C, must protect it. It is tolerating penumbra

Soil demand:  icompack, lime free, normal bonsai soil mix

Watering:

  • Normal
  • the soil always have moist

Feritilising: Normal

Sicness: Not sensitive

Special needs: Advised a full defoliaton at beggining of June, after second spraut use "clarity pruning"
